Renewing NTPDA Members - YES!

What do you do when you have so many NTPDA members renewing that it would take DAYS to list them all on Facebook and Twitter? How about calling each Thank You Written one out in a blog post? Yeah...

A big thank you to Anderson Tractor Supply out of Bluffton, Ohio with acres of agricultural machinery, seems like the perfect place to find a part or some used equipment. Go ahead and check them out.

Then there is Central Fuel Injection Service based in Estherville, Iowa. They have a host of diesel parts and service abilities to keep your equipment running. Give them a shout for fast and dependable diesel fuel injection services.

Thank you Heartland Clutch out of Machesney Park, IL for renewing your NTPDA Membership. These are the folks who know about high quality and prove it everyday. Besides they have a pretty neat website.

How about MaxiForce from Doral, FL? They have been at it since 1994 and specialize in diesel engine parts for John Deere, Perkins, Caterpillar, Yanmar, Cummins, Kubota, Mitsubishi, Shibaura, Komatsu, International Harvester/Navistar, and Thermo King.

Next up is Sturgeon's Corner from Meno, OK. They have been in  business since 1962 keeping farmers and ranchers in parts and equipment. Now heading the company is the founders son Lon. Check out his amazing inventory.

A big THANK YOU to Diesel Specialties of Sioux City, Iowa! Our friends have been members for a very long time...and in business for over 40 years. Once again an impressive website.

Finally there is Westlock Tractor Parts of Westlock, Alberta, Canada. You want to see a massive parts "bone-yard" check out the home page image on their website.  WOW!

So yes, we really appreciate you and proud to call you not only members but also friends! Hope to see you in Nashville for our Annual Conference and Trade show which is very, very different this year!

Three Important Things!

Look, we know you are busy so we won't take up much time...however, there are THREE important things to share with you right here, right now.

Early Registration for Nashville Renaissance Hotel Room 2022

It's already shaping up to be a popular Conference & Trade Show and what is really neat is that you'll not have to pay the hotel nightly rate of $270.00 plus tax. The NTPDA Board has authorized a "buy-down" of your hotel rate for Thursday, Friday and Saturday of $150 per night. That means your nightly rate for those three nights comes in at $120.00 plus tax. That, friends is a significant savings.  So, that is "Thing One" about registration. "Thing Two" is that if you register, using THIS LINK you'll also save money. Registration is $300 per person until the end of October and then it jumps to $375 per person for November/December.  We've already had a number of people register and we encourage you to do it now.

The Whova App

Whova Ad Capture ImageThis is also some really big news. We're using an application that will be on your smartphone. The Whova App is a great way to connect with other NTPDA Members and Guests.  When you register you'll be getting a link to download the app that features photos, contact information and a way for you to connect with our trade show displayers.  Plus you'll be able to ask us questions and more.  This is a total game changer.  That is "Thing One" about Whova. "Thing Two" is an advertising opportunity for your company to be placed on the app so that you can promote products and services to attendees. The cost for that is just $500 and Whova stays live for weeks following our event in January. For more about this opportunity contact Kim or Michael for details. We think you're going to love it. Want to LEARN MORE?  Check out this VIDEO

The December Bulletin

And, finally the deadline for entry into the 2022 Conference and Trade Show Bulletin is November 16.  We're on a really tight schedule because we want to get it into your hands well before the holidays.  So...if you have news about your business or if you want to take this opportunity to highlight your presence at our Conference and Trade Show...let's get this done.  You can send your news and your ad directly to Michael via email: [email protected]

CORNHOLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cornhole Ladies

OK, I lied...there is a fourth thing.  We're seeking sponsors to help us with the two prizes we're doing for our brand new Cornhole Tournament. First Prize is a cool $1,000 and second place walks away with $500. If you would like to sponsor this event (and it's already starting to fill up) let's do it.  You can contact Kim or Michael to reserve your place.  [email protected] or [email protected]

OK, that's it and under 500 words!

The Summer Bulletin is Out and Online

The newly designed NTPDA Bulletin should be in your mailbox within the next week or so. Inside you'll be able to "Remember When" with some great June 2022 NTPDA Bulletin Cover Use photos, learn the "financial literacy" secrets to building a more successful business with author Jack Stack. And, yes there is an NTPDA connection. Jack's company owns NTPDA Member Global Recovery Corporation based in Missouri. You'll also hear from our financial advisor Craig Shaver about the importance of trust when it comes to investing. President Trey invites you to join us for our Summer Board Meeting this year in Scottsboro, Alabama. There is some news about the Farm Bill in a Washington, D.C. report. In "Staff Notes" you'll learn what Kim and Michael have been up to over the past several months.

And what is really neat is that you'll be able to meet our 2022 NTPDA Scholarship Recipients. The Board increased the number of students able to receive funds and it's really interesting to read what each of our "Class of 2022" are seeking to do with their education.

Finally, a big THANK YOU to our many Bulletin advertisers. We've been able to outpace our Spring Edition as more of our members have come to understand that The Bulletin is a great way to showcase products and services and it is mailed to every member in the U.S. and Canada. For those of you who are in other nations know that you can access The Bulletin by clicking this link or simply going to the tab at the top of our website.

Remember, we're here to help you share news and information about your company. Our deadline for the Fall Issue is 17 August. Feel free to send your news and your ads directly to Michael at [email protected]

Here's to a profitable summer!

Seller Beware!

We're all aware of the old saying, "Buyer beware!" and while that's true even sellers need to beware of scam artists. Here is a story about that we think Man Selling Elixer you'll enjoy and, perhaps, learn from.

We get phone calls all the time from people wanting to sell NTPDA something. From Medicare insurance to car warranty insurance to copy paper. It's a steady stream. However, not long ago we received, for the second time, a phone call from a company who wanted to sell us parts. The  person on the other line said, "Please, we would like to sell you tractor parts. Can you put me in touch with your purchasing agent?" We told them we don't actually sell parts but our members sell parts.  He was not listening. "No, no, no...we have tractor parts for you. Please let me speak to your purchasing agent." Again, I shared with my insistent friend that we do not sell parts but if his company wanted to sell parts to our members his company should become a member of NTPDA. He said, "Yes, yes I understand but we do have tractor parts to sell to you. May I please speak to your purchasing agent?"

Clearly he didn't understand and this went on for some time (we are very patient people here at NTPDA) before I asked the caller for his email and I would
send him a note about who and what we are and give him the opportunity to join our group. That was three weeks ago and we've not heard back.

Man Shell GameLast week I was visiting with one of our long-term members who I knew sold a specific brand of parts to dealers. I told him the story and he said to me, "I know who you are talking about and it is a scam."  He told me that he had gotten a call from this same company requesting that he send some parts to three of their clients in the U.S. and that the company ordering the parts would pay the bill.  So, our member received payment online and filled the three orders. All good...right?

Except a few days later the company that called to order the parts disputed the charges and the payment was reversed.

Our member was out the parts and the payment.  While it was not a huge order it still hurt.

The bottom line here is know who you are doing business with. One of the great things about being a member of NTPDA is that we do know each other. We do business with each other and there is a method to attempt to fix problems that arise.

Yes, along with our many benefits, there is a sense of comfort being an NTPDA member...and thank you!

Meet Our Members - Schmidt Machine Company

We welcome back to NTPDA our friends at Schmidt Machine based in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. Recently the company was featured during an broadcast interview Kevin Schmidt 13 December 2021 for Insight on Business the News Hour here is that piece:

"Over the years we've interviewed hundreds of business owners. Some that are in a brand new business and others that have taken over a company that's been around for decades. Today, in our Small Business Spotlight, we're visiting with Kevin Schmidt whose grandfather, back in 1928, started Schmidt Machine based in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. For a family owned company to have been around that long is a testament to hard work and quality products. Schmidt Machine specializes in creating aftermarket ag parts and does business world-wide.  Meet Kevin...who also does a bit of "standup comedy" when he's not running the business and, yes, he offers up a sample."

If you've got news about your company we'd love to hear from you! Send your press releases for The Bulletin and for consideration for a broadcast to [email protected]. You can also call us at 877-668-0900 for details.

Thank you for being a member!
